Site Page Templates Getting Started
Updated over a week ago

βœ… First: Install Site Page Templates

Be sure you have installed the main Site Page Templates PowerUp to your site. This contains the main SPT section you will need to add to all of your site pages that will be using SPT. Think of it as a way of activating your superpowers on that page.

πŸ€” Forget to install Site Page Templates? You can install it here

βœ… Second: Install SPT Collections

Install one or multiple SPT Collections to your Thinkific site. Each SPT Collection will contain a set of sections that you can use on your Site Pages.

🀩 Start with a free Sampler Collection or purchase them individually. Already a PowerUp Pass member, then you know you get them all for free πŸ’₯

πŸ’₯ Now you are ready to use Site Page Templates

After you have completed the first two steps, you are now ready to use the SPT Sections on your Thinkific site pages.

1) Log into your Thinkific site as a Site Admin or Site Partner

You probably are already familiar with this step. But in case you are new to Thinkific, this is how you manage your site.

2) Click on Design Your Site / Site Pages

Again you are probably already familiar with this. But if you are new to Thinkific, this is where you manage the pages on your site.

3) Find the page you will be working on

You can use the standard Thinkific site admin feature to search and/or filter by page type. Note: Most of our Site Page Templates can be used on any type of page, unless otherwise noted.

4) Click on Add Section and add "Site Page Templates"

🚨REQUIRED SECTION

The "Site Page Templates" section is required to be on each page that is using Site page Templates. You should also place it as the first section of the page.

BE SURE TO PLACE THIS AS THE FIRST SECTION ON THE PAGE:

5) Search or browse for a section from a SPT Collection

If you know of the name of the section you are looking for, feel free to search for it by name. You will see the list filter as you search. You can also type "SPT COLLECTION" and it will show you all of the SPT Collections you have installed. Each SPT Collction contains a set of sections that will appear in this list.

If you do not see what you are looking for, either try searching again, or perhaps you did not install the SPT Collection.

6) Update the section settings filling in your content, media and other settings to control how the sections look and behaves.

Each Site Page Template section comes with some standard settings to control the section behavior, background, etc. Be sure to check the guides for reference on these common settings.

Common setting groups in our SPT Sections:

  • Pre heading - this is optional text that can precede the main heading. It is generally smaller and we offer a few different style options to choose from

  • Headings - this is for the main section heading.

  • Summary - this is for the main section text under the heading

  • Buttons - we believe that you should always have the option of having buttons for any section, so we give you the option to include two buttons

  • Media - we believe in offering more than just images, Thinkific Video Library and Youtube. So we offer other video types like Loom, MP4s. We also let you drop in any embed code as well as Lottie animations. If the section has a media element, than you will see this option.

  • Items - this setting group contains options that will effect all items in the list of "block items" (if the section has this option)

  • Layout - some of our sections allows you to quickly alter the layout of the section that will change how the elements appear.

  • Section - this will change the sections padding and container size from the defaults that are set in the Site Page Templates section

  • Who should see this section? - this is what we call our Smart Sections feature where you can have sections appear or not appear based on many conditions

  • Background - on any section you have a number of different background styles you cal use.

  • Blocks - this is actually a standard Thinkific feature that we use when we want to give you a way to add multiple elements. Each element will contain it's own settings for content and options.
