Personalization
Updated over a year ago

The more personal you are with your audience, the deeper connection you have to them and the more they feel like your site is speaking to them directly.

All of this helps with retention and overall helps your business create "fans" instead of customers.

We have been providing a way to do this in many. different ways across our PowerUps.

But with Site Page Templates, we mad it even easier.

First Name Short-code

First, make sure you have the main Site Page Templates installed on the page and make it the first section

You can then add a special short-code into any section on the page, including Thinkific sections.

The short-code format is

<first-name> fallback </first-name>

The fallback will be replaced with the signed in users first-name. If there is no one signed in, then the fallback text will appear.

For example if we used this text:

Hey <first-name> there </first-name>, Welcome to Awesome Academy!!

When a user with the first name of Sammie is signed in they would see:

Hey Sammie, Welcome to Awesome Academy!!

When no one is signed in, the page would display:

Hey there, Welcome to Awesome Academy!!

Simple Text Settings

You will see a simple text setting in just about any section when you can enter plain text. There will not be a WYSIWYG editor in this type of setting.

In this setting, just put in the short code anywhere you like - be sure to include a fallback

NOTE: You may not see the personalization appear inside of Site Builder while in preview mode. Be sure to check you page outside of Site Builder for both signed in and signed out states to make sure it appears as you wish.

Rich Text Settings

😭 Sorry, but the Thinkific WYSIWYG editor strips out any unknown tags and this short code will not work
