How do a get a url to a course lesson?
How do a get a url to a course lesson?
Updated over a year ago

Many times we may want to make it convenient for our students to jump right into a course lesson so they can quickly jump to the content instead of "resuming" somewhere else.

Here are some examples:

  • Connect a button to a specific course

  • Have a resource in Resource Library be linked to a specific lesson

  • Have an event in Cohort be linked to a specific lesson (like the replay)

Fortunately this is very easy but does have some caveats that you need to be aware of

Getting the Lesson Url

  1. Open up the course player as if you are watching the course

  2. Click into your browser address bar and copy to the clipboard. The link will always contain .../take... if you do not see that in the url then you are not copying the correct page.

  3. Paste the link where you want to use it.

  4. If you are using Site Builder then you will need to select Custom Page first

๐ŸšจWARNING: the lesson url is effected by the lesson name. So if you change the lesson name after sharing or using the link, then the original link will not work. Be sure to update all locations of link usage if you change the lesson name.

Also, if the user must of course be signed in and have access to the course.

If they are not signed in and have access, then they will see a sign in page first and then be auto directed to the lesson.

If they do not have access, then they will be redirected to the course landing page and an error message will be shown
