Product Resource Type
Updated over a year ago

The Product Resource Type allows you to add courses. bundles and communities as individual resource cards in your library. Depending on your use case, you may decided to have your product mixed with other non-product resources and also take advantage of the tease feature for upgrade opportunities.

ℹ️ IMPORTANT: The Resource Library section always needs to be on the same page and appear as the first section of the page. All resource types sections need to be listed below the main Resource Library section, otherwise the resource will not appear on the page.

How to add a Page Resource

  1. Add the Product Resource section to the page

  2. Open the settings for the section

  3. Open the Product setting group and select the product you want to list. Note: when selecting a bundle, it will only show one card for the bundle. If you want to automatically show all courses from a bundle, then please use the Bundle Resource section.

  4. Open the Card Content settings group

    1. The card heading and description will use the products name and description if you use the smart text of [AUTO].

    2. You can manually add the Categories you wish to use, or use [AUTO] to automatically use the Thinkific categories that you have associated this product to

    3. Set the media type. 🚨Be sure that all images from all resource are the same size.

      1. Product image; will use the image you have added for the product.

      2. Custom Image: will use the image set below this setting

      3. MP4 Video; will use the url to the MP4 that has been set in the setting below this setting

  5. Open the Page Link settings group

    1. Set the Page Type

      1. Landing Page - the products landing page will be used

      2. Resume - the products resume page will be used if the user is enrolled in the product. Course => course player, Bundle => dashboard, Community => community page

      3. Custom page - will use the custom page setting below this setting

      4. Open link in - this will open the link in the same or new window

  6. Open the Access settings group

    1. Type of Access Restriction -

      • No restriction - always allow : this will always show the resource and it will be accessible to anyone (no login required)

      • Tease - show but restrict access : this will show the resource always but only allow if the logged in user has access to it based on the product enrollment status

      • Restricted - show only if have access : this will only show the resource to the logged in user has access to it based on the product enrollment status options

    2. Choose what you would like the action to be if the resource is set to "Tease" and the user does not have access

      • Change Link - this will change the link of the resource (for example to an upsell page)

        • Set the Upgrade link setting to a page

      • Resource Upgrade Popup - this will open a popup with the settings provided for this resource

        • Provide the details for Resource Popup Heading, Resource Popup Sub Heading and Resource Popup Button Text. The Upgrade Link setting will also be used

      • Library Upgrade Popup - this will open a popup with the settings provided in the Resource Library Page

  7. Provide a list of keywords that will aid the search algorithm. The keywords have a larger "weighting" than other text found in the heading, subheading and categories

  8. Repeat this process for the remaining Product resources you have

πŸ€” THINK ABOUT IT: If you are looking to add several products at once, then consider using a Bundle Resource. The bundle does not have to be published or a bundle you sell. It can be used to list a set of courses in a specific order.

if you are looking to use Resource Library for an "All Courses" page replacement, then consider using the All Products resource instead
