Resource Library Settings

The Resource Library section controls how your page looks and functions. On this page you can control:

  • Search, Filter & Category Groups

  • How the resource cards look

  • Test our how a large library would look and behave

  • Control your Library Upgrade Popup

Search, Filter & Categories

Use this setting group to control how the sidebar for search and filter behaves

  • Style - Choose between Sidebar or None if you wish to hide it

  • Category tree - This setting controls how the categories in the filter section are groups. Start each category grouping on a new line then immediately follow it with the categories for that group. List each category directly under the category group label and start it with an asterisks.

🚨IMPORTANT: There must be at least one category group. Also, be sure to match all of your categories exactly how you have tagged each resource. When you add your category name to a resource, do not include the asterisk.

  • Heading for results text (use [NUM] for auto number] - this is the text that is used to show the number of results. Be sure to keep [NUM] in the text so that it shows the actual number

  • Heading for Filter - this is the text that is display next to the filter icon

  • Heading for placeholder text - this is the text that is displayed in the search field

  • Heading for clear search results text - this is the text that is displayed when the user has searched or filtered the resources

  • No results message - this is the message that is displayed when there are no search results

  • Auto scroll after search or filter? enable this if you want the browser to auto-scroll to the top f the list after each seach/filter option that has been selected. This ill ensure that the user is viewing items from the top after each selection of the filter options

  • Hide empty categories? - this will automatically hide categories when there are zero resources in that category. If all categories are hidden within a category group, then the category group will also be hidden.

  • Matching Threshold - The search will search the resource name, description, categories and keywords. This effects how many matches are counted as a 'hit'. Drag to the right to be more 'loose' with matching. Drag to the left to be more strict. More search results will be returned in :loose mode" and you may see results that do not have the exact search words mentioned

Cards

This settings group controls how your resource cards look and what to include on them

  • Cards per row

  • Show Image, Show Heading, Show Subheading, Show Categories, Show Drop Shadow

  • Card Background Color

  • Card Text Color

  • Card Category Color

  • Card Padding - put a number to control how many pixels we use for padding around the text

  • Curved Corners - choose how you would like the card's corners to look

  • Amount of curve - enter a number to control how much of a curve. The lower the number the less of a curve the corners will have

  • Min height of content (Desktop) - This helps normalize the card height to account for varying lengths of text so that the cards line up

  • Max lines of content (Desktop) - This will show a ... and truncate the description to X number of lines

  • Load how many resources at a time - This helps with page load speed. There will be a load more button shown when more can be shown. When clicked the resources will be appended to the current list

  • Load more button text - this is what the "Load more" button will show at the bottom of the resource list

Resources

This setting group allows you to simulate how the library would look when there are a certain number of resources. This should just be used for testing

Library Upgrade Popup

This setting controls what the upgrade popup will look like for resources that are set to "tease" and show the Library Upgrade Popup.

  • Media Type - This displays at the top of the upgrade popup

    • None

    • Image

      • Image - recommended 16x9 aspect ratio, but it will show whatever image you upload. This is used when the Media Type="Image"

    • Thinkific Video or YouTube

      • Use Video from yourLibrary, Use video from YouTube and Autoplay Video settings are used when you select Thinkific Video or YouTube

    • Loom Video

      • Loom ID - This is used when you select Loom Video as the media type

  • Popup Heading - Put in yor heading text for the popup. Use [NAME] to inject the persons name

  • [NAME] Alternative (when not signed in) - this text will replace [NAME] when there is not a logged in student

  • Popup Sub Heading - this text will appear below the heading

  • CTA Type

    • Just Library CTA Below - This will show only one button on the popup and will use the Library Button text and Upgrade Link

    • Combination Resource & Library - This will show both the Library button and the resource popup button. This is useful when want to offer two upgrade options, ex: "Get this resource for $49 and get them all for $199"

  • Popup Button Text & Upgrade Link - will determine the button text and button link for the popup

All Products / Student Dashboard Pages

These settings effect how the Resource Library will behave on the All Products and Student Dashboard pages.

  • Hide default Thinkific sections - will hide the default banner and list of products on the All Courses and Student Dashboard pages

  • Enable this on a category page? - The 'category page' and 'all courses' page is shared from a code perspective. When showing on a category page, you will not see or be able to select other categories.The resource library is really meant to replace the all courses page and sub category pages
