Video Resource Type
Updated over a year ago

The Video Resource Type is great when you want to provide a quick way for users to watch videos. You can have the videos openly accessible without having to login (a great funnel strategy for building an audience) or you can have them only available if the user has been enrolled in certain product. You can even create your own "product type" and sell just a video library like in a YouTube+ strategy.

ℹ️ IMPORTANT: The Resource Library section always needs to be on the same page and appear as the first section of the page. All resource types sections need to be listed below the main Resource Library section, otherwise the resource will not appear on the page.

How to add a Video Resource

  • Add a Video Resource section to the page and open it's settings

  • Open up the Card Content settings group and provide the details that will be shown on the card. Be sure to match the Categories that you have provided in the Resource Page from the previous step. Images are suggested for each resource to provide a visual guidance on what the resource is. Be sure to create your images with the same size so they all line up properly. If you wish to not use images, you can disable all of them from the Resource Page settings

  • Open the Video settings group and provide the following information

    • Choose the type of resource that it will be

      • Video (Thinkific or Youtube)

      • Loom Video

    • Loom ID - Copy and paste the video id for a Loom video. For example, "f5f42f4913384c5cb3ded8cea3ac8969" would be the Loom ID when viewing your video from the Loom website: https://www.loom.com/share/f5f42f4913384c5cb3ded8cea3ac8969

    • Thinkific or YouTube - use the options to select the Thinkific video from the video library or provide the YouTube url. When using YouTube, the image is automatically replaced by the YouTube thumbnail.

  • Configure the access level for the resource

    • Type of Access Restriction -

      • No restriction - always allow : this will always show the resource and it will be accessible to anyone (no login required)

      • Tease - show but restrict access : this will show the resource always but only allow if the logged in user has access to it based on the product enrollment status options

      • Restricted - show only if have access : this will only show the resource to the logged in user has access to it based on the product enrollment status options

    • If Tease or Restricted, then choose up to three products to check for enrollment status in the Allow access when enrolled in settings. These could be a course, a bundle or a community. If the user is enrolled in any of these products, then they will be granted access

    • Choose what you would like the action to be if the resource is set to "Tease" and the user does not have access

      • Change Link - this will change the link of the resource (for example to an upsell page)

        • Set the Upgrade link setting to a page

      • Resource Upgrade Popup - this will open a popup with the settings provided for this resource

        • Provide the details for Resource Popup Heading, Resource Popup Sub Heading and Resource Popup Button Text. The Upgrade Link setting will also be used

      • Library Upgrade Popup - this will open a popup with the settings provided in the Resource Library Page

  • Provide a list of keywords that will aid the search algorithm. The keywords have a larger "weighting" than other text found in the heading, subheading and categories

  • Repeat this process for the remaining resources you have
